Luis:

Week Two:

This week was better, however because of my gym workout's. I lift heavy so I need more protein for my muscles. Though I take Truman and Crystals Greens along with M.S.M along with L-Glutamin . This week I am down to 222.5, which feels great. Both Crystal and myself drink several smoothies and juice's each day.

Crystal, has checked my eyes since the start of our juice diet and she has found the white of my eyes have cleared up some what.

Week Three:

This week I still feel the same. But have found my biggest problem to be that I don't drink enough water. I drink only Kegan water which is absorbed by my body better. My lips don't dry up like they normally do when I drink regular tap water.

I've lost another 4.3 lbs which puts me at 218.2. I do look leaner and healthier. The best combination of juice the I like is Wheat-Grass, Beet, Avocado, Figs, Mango 2 Tsp of Greek Yogurt, Banana. It seems to pick me up quickly and carry me for about three hours. However if I don't drink enough water, it seems to me to be all for naught because I get very weak.

These last three weeks, outside of some stresses, I have been sleeping better and more soundly.

30 day GLD completed!

I have completed my 30 day GLD!  I feel that I am still on it!  I have only eaten one meal.  That was a salmon dinner with boiled potatoes and veggies.  I had a smoothie this morning.  I missed my popcorn, so I had that yesterday.  But all in all I have had 95% raw so far.  I am sure that will go down in time.  I am sharing before and after sclera pictures of both Luis and I.  He really shows a lot of improvement and he is excited for the results both seen and unseen.  I have stabilized on my weight at 130 lbs.  I have plenty of energy and I am grateful that I can now fully recommend this to others, which I have. I was able to keep my goal of 8:30 or better pace on my runs throughout the GLD and still do my intense Tue and Thurs "Fit Camp" workouts.

3 WEEKS IN

Crystal:  I am 3 weeks into my fast and have had mostly good days. I am very happy today with my workout.  I ran 5 miles in a 8:08 pace..and I felt great!  It is evening now and I am still feeling really good.  This liquid diet is very doable while still working out.  The trick is to have more smoothies than raw juice, because, lets face it, if you can run and work out, then you are not in bad enough shape to do a real serious cleanse.  And that is where I am at.  I still have to drink enough calories to have the energy to workout.  I learned the hard way on that.  Last night, I made the Banana cream pie recipe.  Wow!  It was delicious!  I think that contributed to me having the stamina to run faster today.  There has only been one day that I have not had a BM.  Again, having smoothies is helping that.  Last night and one other day, I seemed a little more tired than usual, but with rest, the next day has been great.  Overall, I feel I have more energy.  I tweeked my back Saturday, but I recovered from it very quickly.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I have been having at least 8 glasses a day of water which I am hoping helped.  I am still having the gassy stomach though..I hope that can subside.  I have lost 7 lbs.

Almost 2 weeks in. Also Crystal's before and after

Crystal:  It will be two weeks tomorrow.  Time sure flies when you are feeling good!

I did discover something this week.  Every night I had been making a smoothie and then the next day I would generally workout.  On Thursday night, I didn't so when I went to run the planned 6 miles-I could only run 5 miles and I had to push myself to get that in.  I still ran a 8:30 average pace, but it wasn't easy as it usually is.  So now I know to eat...drink...something around 7-8 pm.  That way I have enough energy to do my workouts or run. Luis had the same problem so hopefully he will do the same.

I have managed to have BM's everyday. I think it is because I am having more smoothies, which has more in it than just juice.  I have lost about 6 pounds.  Again, I am not trying to lose it, but it is just coming off.

I have been taking Sclera pictures each week so I can monitor the results. Here are mine when we started:

the first week

CRYSTAL:  Going on my 6th day of the GLD.  I feel good despite not having any solid food.  Each day I have had a BM. Thursday and today were better than the other days. It is important to be eliminating, in fact, if I don't eliminate for 3 days in a row, I have to give myself an enema.  (not wanting to do that!), so that is why I felt it was important to speak of that.

Every recipe in the GLD book have been great.  Dr Leonard's favorite smoothie is so far my favorite.  I made the Carob Smoothie yesterday.  (I love chocolate! This was a great way to get my "fix".) I created a smoothie yesterday, I call it Tropical Smoothie. The recipe is as follows:

2 peaches
1 apple
slice of pineapple
1/2 papaya
1 Tbl coconut
1 c. coconut milk
1 banana
Blend, pour and serve

I have still continued to do my daily routines and exercise.  In the morning, I make a "Super Green" drink.  It is just a powdered formula of Chlorella, Spirulina, Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Kamut, Dulse, Kelp and Olive Leaf.  I mix it in water and drink it down.  I also drink 12-16 oz of water first thing.  Then I go work out. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday are run days and Tuesday and Thursday are "Fit Camp" days.  I always do the Tues-Thurs workouts, but only two to three of the other days to run.  I decided to only have two run days instead of three while on the GLD.  I am curious to see if I can keep my average 8:20 pace or faster during this fast. So far, so good.  I am also taking a Kidney/Bladder tincture, Lower Bowel formula and a Gland Rejuvenator formula.  I noticed in my Sclerology analysis that my Colon, Kidneys and Thyroid were more conjested than other areas.

In the evening, I have had different activities such as meetings, moving my daughter, or going on outings. I have only felt really tired last night and this morning, but I usually do around that time of the month. I have felt more energy overall. I have had less mucous and less pain in my feet. I have lost weight, (about 5 lbs) although that was not my goal, and can fit into my pants better.  :)

Each day I have had times where I have felt hungry, but then I either drink water or make a smoothie or juice something. Everyday at lunch is when I have my juice. I have ventured off and created my own recipes, as you see above. I usually consume 3 smoothies (about 12-24 oz), 1 juice (16-32 oz) and 8-10 glasses of pure water.  One didn't turn out very tasty, but the others have.  Most of them I have added nuts and or yogurt to it to give me a little more calories.  That has helped a lot.

Healthy Eating

Luis,
This week has been a very exciting. I started the 30 day GLD juice diet.
The juices consist of Kale, Celery, Spinach, Carrots, etc. Also included in the juice, are Walnuts, Almonds, Papaya, Mango's, Apples, Oranges, Watermelon, Bananas, Melons etc. The juices and smoothies are taken as needed along with 12 oz of water and as many as needed...

First day Monday was good my body felt great.

Tuesday however was a little different, I was tired and felt drained and didn't seem to have the energy to workout at the gym as I normally do. I believe it was because my body was getting accustomed to the GLD.

Wednesday, I felt full of energy and full of life. I was able to do everything I needed to do without running out of energy. I see my skin is starting to clear up and also have lost weight, how much I yet don't know. When Crystal and I started the GLD, I was weighing about 228.
I'm looking forward to see what the outcome will be.

Thursday, I felt fine, my body was doing better on the GLD. I had the strength to workout at the gym. Overall a good day. I even helped my finance move her daughter from Eugene to Albany.

Friday, I took the day of from the gym, felt a little drained from Thursdays work out.

Saturday, Today Crystal and I are at the store welcoming GEOCACHERS and so far we have had two smoothies. I was low on energy as was Crystal. After the drinks we both were rejuvenated. We are both in need of water and feel a little low.

Tomorrow, Luis and I start our 30 Great Liquid Diet, as outlined in his book titled the same, by Dr Leonard Melmauer.

I am in good health already, having been on several juice fasts and eat a mostly raw food diet.  I do eat chicken on occasion and will have "treats" once in a while.  I run or work out 5 days a week.  So you wonder, why would I want to go on another cleansing diet?  Well, there are several reasons, in my own mind why I want to do this.

Even though I am considered healthy by American standards, there is always things I need to do to make my body even that much better. Also, I would like to recommend this to others and need to have the experience myself.

My goals are:

Have a better digestion system-based on my Iris analysis and Sclerology, my pancreas, colon, kidneys and thyroid could all use some sort of cleansing.

Less pain in the joints in my feet.
Eliminate flatulence
Less mucous build up.
I am a "Anxiety Tetanic" and "Neurogenic" (sub-types in Iridology) which lends me to be a highly nervous, never-quit-moving type person.  I think it has caused me to feel like I itch everywhere, even more so when under a lot of stress, or when I am trying to relax.  I hope to minimize or eliminate it.

Right now I weigh 137 lbs and am at 19% body fat.  I don't really care about the weight so much as I just want to work on the other areas mentioned above.

Luis is pretty healthy, but has had many stressors that show up in his Sclerology analysis as well. He also has had his prostate removed due to cancer. His colon, pancreas, kidneys, heart and lungs will all benefit greatly by going on this GLD.

He had surgery in June, 2013.  He normally works out 3-4 days a week but has be off recuperating for 2 months.  So now, tomorrow, he will start back on weights and the GLD.

His main goals he would like to accomplish while on this cleanse are:

Lose weight and inches (Current weight 227 lbs)
Stabilize shaking he has in his hands (caused from medication he has taken for a long time.  Has reduced dosage)
Clearer skin and more hydrated
Lessen joint pain
Lessen mucous build up
Sleep sounder-minimize snoring
Minimize a dry cough he has had for years.
